Victory, eh?
By: Paddy | November 3rd, 2008Deportivo 3-0 Real Betis
La Coruna was the scene of a open top bus parade last night as the City welcomed back their all conquering (Well Betis at least) heroes. Two goals from Angel Lafita put the seal on a fine second-half display for the lads after Riki had given them us the lead in somewhat controversial circumstances on the hour-mark.
However the victory was thoroughly deserved and Betis can have no complaints. The victory lifts Depor up to ninth in the table. Lafita’s first goal was a peach, better than anything Queen Latifah could do.
Player Quotes
Jonathon de Guzman had this to say: ‘Teams are conquered not by goals, but by love and magnamanity.’
Andres Guardado was philisophical with the victory: ‘The problems of victory are more agreeable than the problems of defeat, but they are no less difficult.’
Manager Miguel Angel Lotina wasnt sure if the open top bus was warranted: ‘Be careful that victories do not carry the seed of future defeats.’
Centre Back Ze ‘Fidel’ Castro was happy with the victory over the north cost rivals: ‘Victory has a hundred fathers but defeat is an orphan. ‘
Left Back Felipe Luis was slighty confused: ‘The best victory is when the opponent surrenders of its own accord before there are any actual hostilities… It is best to win without fighting’
Juan Carlos Valeron was happy but for other reasons: ‘I had sex with a woman last night’
Daniel Arunzubia had nothing interesting to say: ‘The Dodo never had a chance. He seems to have been invented for the sole purpose of becoming extinct and that was all he was good for’
Goals and that
Player Ratings
I give everyone a solid, but not great 9.8 out of 10.4-Its good but there’s still room for improvement. Everyone except Juan Valeron who gets a not bad 10.3 for his 9 minute cameo.
Strange but true Depor Fact of the Day No Deportivo La Coruna player can be folded more than 7 times in half
PS- I wanna say hello to my first fan, the first person to leave a comment on this page who isnt me. Thanks to ‘John’

Why are you always so critical of Guardado? Along with Valeron, they are simply the best players on Depor and he always delivers good and solid performances. In my opinion, the best for Depor this term have been Aranzubia, Guardado, Valeron, Riki and Lafita is proving his worth. Thanks for covering SuperDepor!
